Kitchen Remodel

My house was built in the 1950's and the kitchen had been "updated" in the early 90's... I couldn't stand it one more minute & I am SO happy with how it turned out! We were able to enclose the area the washer/dryer was and add a half bath as well.

Beautiful! Very clean and contemporary. I love that you added an island!

Very cool. I like your new kitchen. In order to tie everything together you just need some glass tiles on that back wall to bring up the reddish brown of the floor, the blackish brown of the cabinets, the green paint, stainless steel, and the carrera mable of the countertops and white of the window frames and doors. Regardless, your new kitchen is a vast improvement over your old 50's kitchen. Bravo.

beautiful ! I have the lime green as little pop sof color in my kitchen. I doubt that my husband would appreciate an entire wall, or even the space between counters & cabinets. Yours is beautiful!

My kitchen is green too. Not quite as bright at yours, but I love it! I always wanted a green kitchen. :)

Nice work matching you countertops to the cabinets! Everything matches together very well.

were the cupboard doors completely replaced or some type of wood framing added to the previously flat fronts? I'm so intrigued by this re-do b/c the cupboards are exactly like mine and I've wondered how they would look black. I love the dark wood floor, too, but must agree with some others that the green is too, too bright (for me).

Yes, the kitchen was completely gutted. Everything is new! My contractor looked at me like I had completely lost my mind when I told him the paint color but for us it is perfect :)
I still haven't decided on a backsplash but I did go with a black/white damask printed valance over the window at the sink and a few accent pieces in the same pattern. I've hung two portraits but that's all the decorating I've done so far. I purchased several black/white canvas prints, frames, shadow boxes but just can't bring myself to put any holes in the walls yet :) here are a few other pics..

Love it! So fresh and perky. Good job!

I love the green with the white trim and the dark wood floor! What if you just covered the backsplash area with clear glass panels so that the green comes through?! You can certainly add other pops of color in towels, canisters, etc. I love it!

I have black cabinets too. Stained them myself 9 years ago and still love them. People thought we were nuts for choosing black. Just like your green...:-). (Like it BTW). I love your contrasting white countertops and brilliant flooring. Nice, fresh change. HUGE improvement. Enjoy!
