Have several that I grew from seed from 01 flowered the first time in 06 though some didn't flower until 10 or 11. Much variation and they were all started from the same batch of seeds . Careful what you wish for !! They are incredibly seedy once they start lol gary

Thank you. In this case I'm not wishing for it. The neighbors planted four of them two feet from their property line. I am looking for reasons to convince them to cut them Down.

They can be extremely seedy but worse they hold onto the old fronds almost forever lol On the plus side they are very hardy,disease resistant and are fast growing. unlike many types of palms

My neighbors have coconuts and royals one frond fills up the whole yard not to mention the size of the seeds . good luck gary
