We are redoing our kitchen due to a flood. Only two years ago we replaced our black granite countertops with white Caesarstone. We cook a lot, and I loved the granite -- and often worked right on the countertop. The Caesarstone was much more aesthetically pleasing than the granite, and while I didn't hate it, and wouldn't be replacing it but for the flood, I found it a bit fussy with regards to maintenance, and could be difficult to clean after inevitable spills (tea, coffee, tomato sauce, etc.) such that I never prepared food directly on the surface.

Now that we are redoing the kitchen, I am considering whether to replace the Caesarstone with something else. I want a completely nonporous surface and very much like the look of Krion made by Porcelanosa -- its a bonus that the white is really quite white, and can be installed seamlessly (and I think is somewhat less expensive than Caesarstone).

I'm wondering if any avid cooks have used Krion countertops, and can tell me how practical they have found it to be. Any thoughts on the relative merits of Krion vs. Caesarstone would be appreciated.
