I'm sorry to say it looks like your rope Hoya is a gonner. If you have some good, healthy growth yet (and from the photo, it looks like you MAY have some), cut it off NOW before it advances to that growth. I find compacta hard to grow for some reason, so I'm not one to advise you on growing it well, but I can say with certainty that if you don't salvage the growth that's still viable, you'll have nothing left of your original plant. Now that the days are getting longer, it should root fine for you, assuming whatever is killing it hasn't advanced into what looks like healthy growth. And if it doesn't make it... well, as my mother says, everything eventually dies of old age - even plants. The best you can do is take cuttings and start a new one, and call it the next generation...

Yes take cuttings with at least 4 to 5 leaves and poke them into some loose free draining medium...one part soil and 2 parts perlite would work.Humidity and bottom heat will quicken to rooting process.Your plant in the photos looks like the soil to too dense and compacted which leads to root rot.Best of luck...but you still have enough of the plant left to start another basket of cuttings!
