Roses U (unknown) 2015
Obviously there aren't many "U" roses. I do have one, UNICEF, but it hasn't bloomed yet. So, I figured we could do our "unknown" roses here! I have a few...
UK APRICOT mini/miniflora? - This one is a Poulsen grocery store mini that I haven't been able to ID.
UK RED-ORANGE - This one was a mis-labeled one from many yrs ago, sold as VIENNA CHARM. I'm guessing it's TROPICANA, but not really sure.
UK PINK mini/miniflora - Another one of the grocery store minis.
UK PINK - This was from Hortico a few yrs ago. Sold as DESERT ISLAND as I recall.
UK RED mini - I can't figure out which one it is. Has to be either LITTLE SIZZLER, BRIAN DONN or I dunno?? Black spotty little thing...
UK PINK & WHITE tea? - I posted this one last yr. It's growing in the jungle of teas at the west side of the house. I still haven't figured out what it is. Might be a sport off of either ROSETTE DELIZY or DUCHESS DE BRABANT. Or it was a weird freak bloom. Unfortunately I didn't mark the stem, so I have no idea where it was now. I still haven't cleaned that bed up yet.
Ok what are your unknown roses?? Or any "U" named roses?

Unbridled
As well as a few unknowns.
I bought this rose as Paradise but I don't think it is. Looks more like Angel Face maybe.
This one is from a cutting from my Aunt Gloria's unknown rose. It's definitely an HT of some kind from the late 50s, early 60s.
And my friend Marge's unknown pink rambler, I think.

10 years agoLovely roses everyone! My 'UK' was bought as a replacement for French Lace, which it isn't! I suspect it may be Kordes La Perla, but it is beautiful and healthy, whatever its name.

Seil, Your Unbridled is beautiful! And who would have thought there would be so many lovely U's amongst us...even if they all have the same name of "unknown", they sure are a nice variety of eye candy. I have no "real" U, but here is an unknown that some forum members thought looked like Aloha. Now that it's in the ground, it has started acting a bit like a climber, but I'm still not completely sold on Aloha as its ID:
10 years agoHere's one that didn't make it through the last winter. Bloomed just this once this spring and then fizzled. It was an RVR mystery rose. My guess is Blessed Child.
10 years agoHere is my unknown. I bought it at the end of the summer last year on clearance from a local nursery in their no tag section. It had no scent last year but maybe as it matures.
