We used stained pine for the trim. Since this is a log cabin, using a variety of woods and stains seemed natural. Else where in the home there is unstained pine v-groove panelling and it all works together. The kitchen and dining room are open to each other and there is a loft room right above the kitchen that can be seen from the dining room.

I am struggling with the differences in wood species and color. Do you think all will be OK when paint, pendant lights, etc. are in place? The floor in this are is cement. We sealed it and it will be grey. However, upstairs in the loft is an oak wood floor. We have not yet stained. What tone?
