We are willing to spend the money rehabbing. We are ok with that.

Change the paint colour to a light grey and remove or change window coverings and accessories for now, live in the home for a bit and see how you use the space and how it corresponds to your lifestyle. Then create a new floor plan for the bathroom by taking the dimensions of the room and fixtures and just see how they fit. Use graph paper or find an online website that allows you to manipulate the floorplan. Anything is possible with a large bathroom it just depends on how much money you are willing to spend to relocate fixtures such as the toilet. I am going through the same thing as you right now but I am taking my time and creating the perfect plan that fits my lifestyle. Also, If you have a massive bedroom you could expand the bathroom into it by moving the wall. Just some ideas I have been playing with.

Before you make any decision, contact a plumber to be sure what you are contemplating can be done. My assumption is that this is a second level or on a concrete slab. Plumbing is tricky and pricey to move.
