Have you seen this tile?

I found this tile (40 pieces) at a Restore and think I love it for shower accent. It's 6x6. My camera colors are off, it's a pale green background with darker green. I need more though. Have you seen anything like this? Also, what other tile do you like with it? Thank you!

Dark gray marble pencil tile top and bottom, with 2 x 6 subway?

    Tumbled marble mosaic accent:

    Geometric border:

Mama_goose!!! you rock! I really like the first one or the second one. The third is a bit much for me. Also, would you do a 2X6 subway vs a 3X6 subway? The tile is 6X6, which would give it a better contrast?

One more question, those are my kitchen pendant lights. My kitchen cabinets are IKEA white Slab and some sort of wood slab door (haven't decided).

Between mockup #1 and mockup#2, which way would you go?

Or, would you just use my existing tile and only backsplash behind the range (which I have enough of) like this?

Please keep in mind that I have no uppers on the range wall. Please tell me your preferences.

6" is a bit large for an accent row square. You could put them together as a large rectangle on the fixture wall and frame them with a plain green border, maybe a glass pencil liner, then use subways as field tile. I just have this example at the moment.

Would you have enough to turn them on the diagonal and do the top of the shower walls? They have a cottage feel so this could be pretty.

My first thought, hence my first mock-up, was the simple marble liner. I like the brick-like longer subway tile, but I think 3x 6 (as in may's pic) would be fine. I included the geometric border because I was thinking that anyone who walks into the BR probably won't notice the subtle diagonal/diamond detail on the 6 x 6 tile, until they were close. And then they'll notice that the border repeats the diamond pattern. You'd have to careful, though, about the green tones in the stone vs the tile, which don't really come through in the pics.

Are you possibly using the same tile in the shower and the kitchen? I'm not sure about your kitchen questions.

mayflowers, I am not sure about the cottage look as I tend to lean towards more contemporary.

Mama goose, Well, I have enough tiles to do either the kitchen backsplash or as an accent in the bathroom. I have exactly 40 tiles. I just don't know which way to go...

    Another photo of the green

I would use a plain ceramic tile with that, not crackle. If it's reading gray-green, you can find plenty of tile in that color. Maybe a gray-green glass subway, but avoid 3 x 6 subways if you want contemporary.

Here's a better photo of using an accent tile together on one wall. If your shower is 36" wide, you can do four rows across and ten rows down--24" x 60". That has a more contemporary feel than marching the tile around the entire shower in a row, and it will have more visual impact. The same for your kitchen--put it all under the hood. I don't know how else you could use tile that size in the kitchen--it's just too big to put in a row.

In the shower, you would be able to use large format tiles as your field tile. I'd start with trying to find something that pairs well with the squares, and that may lead you to which room to use it in.

Mayflower, Thank you for your suggestions. I am really thinking about doing this in the kitchen with my tiles...

But just in case I need field tiles, Would you go bigger like 3X12 or smaller like 2X8 for a contemporary look?
