Faucet decision

I have pretty much decided on a Kohler, but I can't decide on a finish. My cabinets are BM Simply white shaker cabs, countertops are soapstone and floor is Jerusalem stone. I don't really like their stainless, although I could live with it. Cooktop is induction, ovens are stainless steel and the rest are panelled. My other options are Chrome or matte black. What would you choose and why?

Not that they need to match, but what finishes are you using for cabinet hardware & light fixtures and what color/material is your sink?

Sorry! Forgot to mention the cabinet hardware is satin nickel, sink is soapstone. With my really low ceilings, there will only be pot lights.

I have the same questions as romy178. I just went through the selection of hardware, sink, and light fixture finishes. I actually mixed finishes as follows: stainless steel appliances, antique pewter cabinet hardware, antique pewter kitchen faucet, and antique brass light fixtures. Once I know what your other finishes are in hardware and light fixtures, I can better recommend a faucet finish.

I am matchy-matchy. I am not a good finish mixer. So, I would go with stainless to match the satin nickel and stainless ovens. I think the black faucet would be too dark with soapstone counters and sink. Second choice would be chrome.

I'd be hesitant about the black. If your soapstone is not oiled & is a soft grey, it may look harsh against the soapstone & white cabinets. Which Kohler faucet style? I have polished nickel hardware & some stainless appiances so mixing silver metals doesn't bother me.

Thanks for your input. I think you are right about the black with the soapstone. I don't know if I will keep the counters oiled or not, so black it will not be! I am leaning towards the Bellera, although the Cruette and Simplice are not out of the running. I keep thinking stainless is the right choice, but the Kohler stainless finish really isn't my favourite, ugh. Down to the last decisions, so I am second guessing myself constantly!!

Thanks Romy. I think I should go with what I like (chrome), and not what I think is the proper choice (stainless). What I think is interesting is that in the 2nd picture, the faucet is similar to the one I am doing, the house is in the city I live in, and the contractor is one that I interviewed!!! How did you know, LOL?

    Chrome :)

I would choose chrome as well.

Thanks for the chrome votes. :) It's what I like, and I'm happy that I'm not the only one that would choose it. Why is it getting so much more difficult to make a decision these days??
