In the second photo, at least, there appears to be a natural left-right break after the sliding doors. In the first photo, you have several natural divisions, so it depends on how you favor symmetry or asymmetry -- around the door, say, or one side section.

Where exactly is the front door? Can you obtain some matching brick or stone like what is on the two columns in front? Adding some of that could be key. Maybe framing that triple window on the left front with the stone/brick. Note the railings on the first house. Changing your wood railings to something contemporary would make for a totally new look on your house, and the view would open up too. Cedar and stone additions like the second one could add interest to a neutral gray house. However, I wouldn't have closed decks like theirs.

Beautiful home, as is! The roof is dominant. Will you be keeping this room for a long time? I like these colors together, the deep teal and orange. The lower photo reminded me of your roof. Your home is between a greenish and brownish hue. Considering your spectacular backdrop, I would think a pale tan or khaki would lighten it up and blend it with it's surroundings. A tall, scultpural tree against the front end that doesn't have windows would be dramatic. A river birch is one option. Clear out the shrubbery on that wall. with one tree in place, build out a small garden with curving borders. Plant some bright colored flowering perennials: daylillies, tall lillies (very sculptural) come to mind.n They grow into 6 foot tall clumps, not aggressive, but can be divided.

You have a very nice clearing in the woods for this home and I think you should bring in some trees, placed strategically to emphasize and balance your facade.

Is it all wood siding or is there some stone, too? Do you want a dramatic look or a blend-into-hills earthy look?

More photos, including front door, would be helpful.

Maybe a horizontal siding around the windows in a clear cedar or charcoal gray.
