Elevation and Revised Empty Nester Floor Plan Comments/Suggestions?

I very much appreciate all the comments on my previous post with our first draft of our Emoty nester floor plan. We've taken many of the comments back to the builder and attached is the revised floor plan with elevation. I've also attached a photo of my inspiration home which I provided to the builder. Although the the inspiration house has panted brick, we are planning on doing a monochromatic stone exterior combined with vertical and horizontal siding. I think we are getting close with the floor plan and the elevation but I'm looking for feedback on adjustments we should make on both the floor plan and elevation.

I also feel like something is missing on the elevation. I really like a French Country look and am trying to achieve an elegant, timeless look for the elevation. One thing I will ask for is to have a curved brick element incorporated above the two front windows on either side of the front door. Any comments and suggestions are much appreciated!!

What I don't like about the elevation is right now it looks like you stuck two different house together. The two halves have no cohesive relation to one another. And then you have the third element of the board and batten sticking out from the garage area as if it were an afterthought. Notice in your inspiration photo it's all one type of material for the house which helps tie it together.

Also can you post the plans a bit larger? They're a bit hard to read. :)

Cpartist, I think you vocalized what was bothering me about the elevation! Any suggestions?

Here is a bigger version of the floor plans and, hopefully, they are easier to read.

Forget the brick or you will destroy the simple timeless elegance you are looking for. The photo is much simpler and nicer than the elevation drawing. The buildings that inspired this design are even simpler (no front facing gables, that's an English tradition) and unit masonry would only be seen where the stucco surface coating had been damaged and not repaired. It would never be used as a feature. Stick with the French inspiration and don't mess it up with modern builder/developer accents. Alternatively, study English Cotswold cottages if you like front facing gables.

baseballmom, it's still to small to read. Message me with your email address and then I'll message you back and you can send me the pdf's that I can make larger. Do it for both the plans and elevations and I will try to play over the weekend. Of course JDS gave you the best advice so the question is which do you prefer? Plus, I'm not any good with figuring out the roof lines so am not sure how to advise there.

Mark, yes, that is a good idea about moving the lower level closets into the unfinished space...thank you! JDS, I appreciate your comments on the exterior and will study the French and English Cotswold style. Do you do work for clients remotely? I really just need someone to tweak the floorplan and rework the exterior. We are comfortable with the quality of work of our builder.

Cpartist, thanks so much for offering to look at my floor plan! That is so kind of you. I messaged you my email address.

Any other comments or suggestions are appreciated!
