I apologize for jumping ahead of the designer, but I believe the fireplace, cast iron face, mosaic tile and mantel are vintage (came with the house) and the wall was made more dramatic by removing the plaster from the brick.

No apology needed, thanks for your input. The text reads: " The couple added a new hearth with vintage-inspired tile." I assume that means that the existing firebox got a redo with a new hearth a tiles.

Very good. I should have at least read the comments instead of shooting from the hip! Good tile selection.

We have a new build but love the character of an old home like this one, so we found an old victorian insert, made our own mantle and bought the marble tile new. It's just a faux fireplace( wish it was real), but it adds the character we were looking for.
