Winter Sowing Lavender

Hi all! I ordered various types of lavender seeds from Swallowtail Garden Seeds and the directions say to use a sterile soiless mix without the use of a humidity dome. Those of you who have wintersown lavender successfully, did you follow these instructions or did you sow in normal mix such as MG using vented containers. Any special hints and tricks? Thank you so much in advance!

My worry was for nothing. Already have some sprouting up :)

I used the standard wintersowing method with ProMix from a bale. Had excellent success.

The instructions on the back of packets are meant for indoor germination. Fortunately, wintersown seeds can't read!

I had success with Munstead lavender last year. I did not do anything special, but they were one of the last containers I did in March. You being in a much warmer zone than me could probably do them anytime.

I bit the bullet and gave them the same treatment as the others I put out. I'm back after a few years. Had huge success before so I'm not sure why the lavender worried me :). Thank you all so much!

I just wintersowed the normal way - no special treatment. I currently have 45 lavender plants from last year's winter sowing that I'm growing up a bit before I plant them out into a tough area. I'll probably plant them out before the fall rains...
