Front door and shutters question

We have an orange brick house with khaki siding (which I hate but can't afford to change. I am going to paint the front door and shutters but am having difficulty deciding on a color. I would like navy but I am unsure if it will match. Any opinion or advice is appreciated.

Based off of this picture, the low light it making it a bit tricky I would definitely go Navy. The blue will help bring out the red tones in the brick and cancel out the orange tones. Typically a strong nautical Navy, one that looks good with a gold will work the best. Steer clear of a colour with too much brightness and green in it. I would suggest Benjamin Moore Hale Navy or Benjamin Moore Old Navy. Both are strong nautical navy's that are not clouded down with white.

What makes you dislike the khaki siding? I was thinking that your brick color might look more balanced if you also paint the garage doors khaki.

I just don't like the color. It's a personal preference. I tend to go for blues and reds. But I understand where you are going with the garage door. Thanks

When you paint the door paint the sidelights too.

You can take a look at our fifth house.com. They have put blue door and shutters on a brick home and they show before and after and list the paint color. I like their choices and I think navy would be a little bit dark for your home. Your door is already in an alcove so I think it would be nicer if it was super dark. Just my 2 cents.

Navy is a classic color and will look great with the white sidelights and window trim! It will also go very well with the siding.
