Hi Anne! I tried this last year and it worked for me. I googled around before I bought it, and seemed like it was worth a try. I used plain water and kept it in my basement under a light. I also rooted hibiscus, hydrangea, and some annuals. Leave them in until they have some pretty well developed roots, pot them up, and mist them for a few days and they do well. I did see that people run into trouble if the water gets to warm - starts getting yucky. I used bottled water to fill it as we have very hard well water. If you google "cloning machine" you will get a bunch of info. The guys growing medicinal stuff :) are extremely knowledgable!

Did you work with hardwood or softwood rose cuttings? It seems to be taking a very long time with winter cuttings.

Softwood mostly. I ordered the cloner in Jan last year, and did try some hardwood cuttings then. Of course it was the middle of winter lol but I wanted to try, it did take a while but I had some root. It seems like the softwood cuttings last summer took 3-6? weeks. I should have paid more attention.
