Backsplash disaster?

Hi all!

I just finished my project and I'm having serious doubts about my backsplash/counter combo. When I picked the glass tile, it looked like a very light grey, which would have picked up on elements within the granite. However, installed it looks green (and changes depending on light) which doesn't seem to match the counters :-(. Can you guys tell me if this looks horrible or not? I'm seriously considering ripping it out and starting again..

I would love to hear some honest opinions..

Looks beautiful on my monitor. Try it for a week or so.

It looks fine and complimentary - you may just be a bit disappointed as to your expectations.

on my monitor it looks fine... so, question: when you look at the photo you posted, as opposed to your actual kitchen... does it look better? thats all we can judge by is what we are seeing.

I don't think it looks horrible at all. It is certainly not crying out to be ripped out and redone. Obviously it turned out a bit different than you envisioned in your own mind, or you wouldn't be questioning it, but honestly I suspect that folks who come to your home will think it looks good, and won't question your choice at all.

Thanks so much for commenting everyone. This is the first time I've ever renovated anything and I'm having a real crisis of confidence. So many bloody choices, and if you mess up, you have to live with it permanently! (Well, you know what I mean..)

Maybe if you installed lighting under the upper cabinets it would make the tiles look lighter.

Don't stress, we all think it looks great. Let it go and never second guess your choices. It'll drive you nuts. Btw, looks like a great view through your windows.

I am going to install some under-cupboard lighting. Hopefully that helps!

Yep, I think it's green..but I'm just going to have to live with it and pretend it was intentional ;-)

Thanks, re: the view. I live in a mountain town in Western Canada, so bad views are pretty hard to come by. This is the view from my living room (cloudy day today)

Ahhh. So lucky to be there. Perhaps you want to keep the name secret so I will too, but I know exactly where you are. We are blessed with some of the most beautiful scenery in the world!

Amazing! Although I think your tile is beautiful, with views like that I wouldn't care if the backsplash was neon pink. My eyes would be out the window all day long.

First, take a magnifying glass to the granite...maybe there is a little bit of green in it? The backsplash looks good, but if you live with it a while and still don't like it, be happy there isn't a lot of it to replace. On a different tangent, could you add a few decorative pieces such as a vase or a painting or a ceramic bowl that matches the green. You can always say it goes with your eyes. Oh, they're blue?
