Cutting down Pussy Willow Shrub

I would like to know how hard one can cut back a Pussy Willow Shrub and cut any dead branches out of it? Can you cut it down to the ground without killing it?

yes ... but with no insult to the root mass ... it will probably be just as big in a year or two ...

on anything... there is never a question of removing dead parts .. just do it ...

if you want it back ... cut to 3 to 6 inches.. rather than to the ground ...

I will be doing this after the Puss Willow has done blooming if that is what it is callee and yes 3 to 6 inches and let it grow back.

Hopefully, the rabbits will not eat it next Winter.

I am starting 2 or 3 more to put on top of my old railroad bank.
