I likeep the first one better, but I think the style of the second on works better with your contemporary furniture.

however, I would want to make sure that they are not too large for your furniture and the room where they will go.

I think the second one looks better with your couch, but I think you could go either direction. Choice one looks more feminine/ sophisticated with it's curved lines, and choice two is more masculine and modern. I think it depends on which direction you want to take in the new room.
