Indoor Winter Blooms from Germany

last modified: 10 years ago

Hey guys, it appears I went dormant as did most of my plumies.
Due to an exceptionally warm, pretty and overall very enjoyable fall, some trees decided it was a wise decision to put out late season inflos.

One of the trees was an 8yo grafted Black Tiger from Thailand I was about to get rid of because of the very poor, read non-existent, blooms. However, it surprised me with some gorgeous, albeit not very deep or black blooms but see for yourself.

1st bloom just opening up

2nd and 1st bloom- 1, respectively 4, days old

3rd bloom - showing a much better color and stronger scent

Another winter bloomer, that reliably puts out blooms indoors is the trusty Dwarf Singapore Pink.

The inflos on the other trees (Cyndi Moragne, Muang Jack and Butterfly Gold) are still dormant for the most part, but I already spotted inflos on all 3 tips of Penang Peach and Sheer Beauty is also going to rebloom after putting on a show last year and maybe 6 or 7 inches of new growth.

Spring can't come soon enough, he said, while it's currently snowing outside.
