It really depends on the look you want but i like grout close to the color of the tile.

Update - I used Silverado Grout from Lowes if anyone on here searches this thread. It is amazing. I highly recommend it

Michelle - do you have a picture? I have the exact same question, just got MSI Dove Gray arabesque and struggling with the grout color. We were thinking silver-ish or off white. any help would be great! Thanks!

I recently used MSI dove gray in a brick set. I used Ardex Fresh Lily which is almost the same color as Silverado I thought it matched the lighter edge of the tile pretty well.

Dove Gray grout is another good option that is a little darker and would work well if you want less contrast.

I'd love to see a picture Michelle! I just had the same backsplash installed and think this color will work nicely. Please upload one! Thanks!!

I am using the same tile and I was going to go with the recommended grout- Oyster Gray

I am so nervous to use Oyster Gray because i would like contrast and I don’t feel like it provides much contrast. It’s hard to know tho! When will you apply the grout?

I hope there is not much contrast! I read that if you want to show off your tile, use a matching grout. If you want to show off your grout, use a contrast. I want to match so I am going with the recommended grout color. I agree though, hard to know until the job is complete and then it is too late.

I would love to see a picture too! Using the same tile and was thinking a light gray as I want a little contrast.

Anyone finally do it with the oyster gray grout? Pics would be awesome!

    I used Bleached Wood.

Anyone use Oyster Gray grout with the dove gray arabesque backsplash tile? Or Platinum grout? I'd love to see some pics please! Thanks. :-)

How did oyster gray work out? I’m thinking of using driftwood.

I know this thread is old, but does anyone have pictures of their MSI Dove Gray tile installed? Would love to see how it looks with different grout choices. I am about to install a backsplash with it and trying to decide on grout color. Thanks.

We still haven’t had under cabinet lighting done yet so it’s a little dark. We used dove gray grout I believe as well (from a tile store).

lisamscott , I am doing the same tile and was leaning towards the same grout you used...are your cabinets really white or a bit creamy. Mine are very white...that is my concern . Thanks!

look at the MSI Dove Gray Tile page on the Home Depot website. Under "questions and answers", customers have posted comments and pics of the tile with their white cabinets.

My cabinets are not super white but I think they are more white than they are creamy. I used Oyster Gray grout which I think is a good match. Walls are gray that is a few shades lighter than the tile.

dayton0223 My cabinets are white, not creamy at all. They are equivalent to Snowbound in Sherwin Williams paint. I'm very happy with the grout choice. Here's a current picture (the backsplash tile always looks a little darker in the pictures). Let me know if you have any more questions!

for you guys who have installed the MSI dove gray mosaic tiles, do you find it looks more gray or gray with a hint of taupe? I am looking for a tile that is not pure gray. The decorator suggested the MSI dove gray. However I’ve seen it look very gray and I’ve also seen it look more gray with a hint of brown, which is what I prefer. I know the grout color will play a part in pulling color and was hoping you could share you experience since it’s hard to tell for sure from the pics you guys have shared.

I would get a sample to take home with you. It looks different when you put it in your kitchen with different lighting. I felt the Dove Gray had a tint of taupe compared to some that were more blue. I can post more pictures if you’d like.

Thanks to this thread, I learned about Oyster Gray for the grout.

Does anyone have more pictures of their installed tile? I have to pick a grout color tomorrow. Didn’t know that was a thing, but now I’m more stressed about picking the grout than the actual tile.

We ended up using 1/16 grout width and platinum grout color from Home Depot.

Did you add 1/16 spacing in addition to the built in spacing (the tile seems to be flared at the bottom), or 1/16 total (no additional spacer)? Thanks!

The tile has a shaded light gray edge so I guess the spacing looks bigger. MSI actually suggested 3/16 for this tile but I thought was too big.

I am concern about this tile. Is it affect to the tiles in the shower? Because it is glazed crackle tile.

I used Mapei Pewter grout. It made the white edges of the tile pop.
