This was a 6-inch "gift with purchase" from a nursery 3.5 years ago and it's now 3x my height and flowering for the first time. I asked the sales lady about the banana trees they had on property. She grabbed a shovel and dug me up a tiny clump and stuck it in a pot. Anyhow, I don't know what kind it is but I'm interested in finding out (preferably before the fruit ripens). I was planning on emailing Dr. Dendro but then I found this forum. Any thoughts? Edible or ornamental? If it is ornamental can I still pick out the seeds and eat it without croaking? 175 weeks ago (in case the leaves matter for identification) and now. The flower opening up.
