I live in Eugene OR and would like to exchange with gardeners in this PNW area. Most posts I see are from WA.

Hello Marty, I am in Creswell, but I don't know how much help I will be. I moved here from Louisiana 3 yrs. ago and I STILL haven't gotten my bearings in the garden!

I'm in the Eugene area too. I have a nicely established garden, but I don't collect particularly rare varieties. Would be happy to share and exchange with folks in/around town.

Patrica, I just decided to try my hand at brugs. I grow citrus currently but have been captivated by brugs since I saw a tree at the Buchart gardens in Victoria. I'd love to hear your experiences with them if you don't mind sharing a bit. I'm going to be looking for places to purchase a brug or two do you have any recommendations?

I will be selling a few by the end of March , most of the sellers I know are in the East. I need to go through the greenhouse to see what has made it over winter. I started out growing and selling

in Calif. and since moving to Oregon I have found it is harder to root over winter here. But if you don't mind ordering and paying shipping from back East I could give you a couple names of sellers. Here are some of my favorites. B. Volkie, B. Raspberry Crush, B. New Orleans Lady, B. Moulin Rouge and many many more. The picture is of B. Audrey Lea

This one is B. Raspberry Crush, it has been a really well growing and blooming brugmansia for me in Oregon.

Those are all beautiful! I ended up joining a few FB brug groups and ordering 6 rooted cuttings from John Cash. I got 6 "dealers choice" and ended up with Emerald Frost, Adeline, Santa Rosa, Pink Perfektion, Coral pink, and Silky Ballerina. They all came in good condition except for the Adeline that had lost almost all of her leaves and the ones she has left are getting crispy. I am hoping that I can salvage her. If they end up doing well here I am going to attempt to root some cuttings myself and would be happy to trade/gift some to people if they are interested, though they most likely wouldn't be ready until next year. But I love the neighborly exchange and gifting of plants I have come across on these various forums and I want to continue that myself.

Good for you . Unfortunately because my husband is now retired and on SS I have to sell to help pay for all the potting soil and fertilizers. Once my sales are done for the season I gift or trade the rest of my cuttings. I grow approx. 65 named plants each year so it is costly.

I totally understand that, it is very expensive to propagate and grow healthy plants and I am happy that it helps provide for your family. I bought some new pots, soil and fert for my new brugs and some things for repotting my citrus and cringed at the price tag of everything. I have a small income and a puppy that just can't get a break in life and I found out yesterday now needs extremely expensive hip surgery. If I had known this was coming I would have held off on the new hobby of growing brugs. I will still be happy to see what king of growth and blooms I can get out of them even if I cant put the time or money into them like I wanted.

Hi, Portland here, with a double-sized lot, HFGH in place, and I enjoy Garden Visits, and have Hosted Swap events. Just returning to GardenWeb after a few years away.

I just bought a hydrophobic propagator and am hoping I will have an easier time rooting cuttings.

A trade event would be wonderful, i'd love to participate if anyone decides to host one.
