OT: Today is dragging

last modified: 10 years ago

Okay... I am bored out of my ever-loving mind today. I am checking and re-checking and re-re-checking stuff as we are expected to start building any day now .. we hope.. and now is when you start going, "should I do this or that" etc...

So, help a brotha out and let's talk food or something.. lol

I went to the store and got everything to make apple pies as I just had a craving.. then realized I had no pie pans (all in storage)... grr.. so bought two disposable ones. Then got home to my small apartment kitchen and went "ung.." I am infected with smallkitchenitis.. lol

I may need to bake them tonight....but then again.. I cannot eat two pies and I have enough to make two pies.. and the apartment fridge has a really small freezer that is full.

So.. today.. I am staring at the plans for my future kitchen and thus.. the day is draaaaggging.. lol

self-inflicted, I know.

Okay.. back to your regularly scheduled schtuph...

Have a great day all of you!

Oh.. some of you pros.. post some pics of your favorite kitchen remodels etc.. let's see what all you have done that you really love. That will help entertain me :P

Ohhh.. there is an idea.. if anyone has a stove wall that someone added a large (48" or 60") stove (not cooktop)...post photos.. trying to get a picture in my mind of how ours will look and ideas for the cabinets etc on each side.

LOL, Russ! It's draggy for me today, too. I'm at work and not feeling well; trying to decide if I'm droopy enough to go home. I think the answer is now "yes", so when my boss gets back from lunch I'll go. :(

You know, you can buy an apple pie...even just a slice or two. LOL

bah! no fun in that! lol... I love to bake pies, I just can't make only one... and I do not know how to half the recipe.. heh. I usually just give someone else a free apple pie ;)

    Get to feeling better!

Me, I am sitting here eating dang Starbursts I bought for my candy bowl when I have visitors and going, "someone make me stop eating these!" lol

You can make the 2 pies and drop one off to me! I'm working on my tax stuff so no fun here! I'd rather be bored and eating a delicious, warm, homemade apple pie!

You know, I have not made a large sandwich like that in some time. I may need to do that this weekend;)

    Thanks MamaG!

That look delicious MamaG. I'd love that sandwich right now, it would go great with the apple pie Russ is going to drop off!

I built our entire house around an inspiration photo I found of this kitchen layout on Houzz! Thank goodness I found it, bc I would have been stuck!

Aktillery...that kitchen is swoonworthy! Love the pantry. Do you have any more pics of it?

AKt.. I remember seeing your pictures before.. that is truly a beautiful kitchen!

I feel better seeing the wall it is on. I was worried the 48" range and 54" vent hood was too much for that wall. Oh, we also have the built in oven/microwave going on that wall. So, 15' with an oven and 54" hood.. heh.

I hope ours turns out half as nice as yours!

Russ - too late to get you through the day. Here's my 48" range & the wall is 15 ft, 8". The ovens are 24".

Akt - always a pleasure to see pics of your kitchen. Truly gorgeous.

Never too late to show us a beautiful picture of your kitchen! Thanks! I just wanted to make sure I was not crowding the kitchen, albeit I was not going to change my mind on the stove.. heh

    TYVM!

What a great start to the day!

Right now, I am working on a proposal for AT&T... HUGE fight started yesterday.. not kitchen related, but sooo infuriating. This helps the day go faster and take my mind off of it. TYVM!

And, FYI - the AT&T issue, since I love hounding them about this...lol

We have a cul-de-sac lot. There is 50ft of access point in the center where we can add the driveway. The cable, water, electricity all put their boxes/equipment in the corner of the lot so as to be out of the way. The AT&T box is smack dab in the middle of the 50ft and they are telling me I have to pay, what could be thousands of dollars, for them to move it. I was like, "uhh.. you get the UNDERground easement.. you do not get to block the access point of the lot with the above ground and hold me hostage"... they claim it is not in the way,

Check this out, tell me if you think they are full of you know what:

The left side is a drainage area.. unbuildable. The left circle is the other utilities. The center line is 50ft 2 inches across.

The center circle is the old SW Bell junction box that nothing is connected to.

Now, I COULD cut down trees..the only trees in the front of the area....or they could move that stupid box.

Could I go around it? Sure... and make a driveway that you would have a hard time backing or pulling a trailer into....but why should I when even their engineer said it was in a bad spot, but they cannot move it unless I pay to have it moved.

Here is a picture of the other utilities.. and then a picture FROM those utilities, looking at the ATT Box..

Sorry.. this is my OT rant today... lol.

Now, back to your beautiful kitchens! lol

    Russ
