Any "SoCal" Hoya fans?

Hi all,

I was just curious to see what Hoyas grow well under shade cloth under southern Californian conditions. We have a simmilar hot/dry (bushfires) summer and cool, damp winter climate. I think it's technically zone 10. I spoke with a lady here who grows camphorifolia very well under shade cloth.

What others do well? Will lacunosa and Heuschkeliana do ok outside year round?

What about coriacea? (On that note, i had to hang mine up away from danger and curb-stomp a couple of snails last night. Its a shame because it had been growing very nicely).

This is nothing. You should see how things grow in north Queensland. Sickening.

I was going to post pics of a mutilated pubicalyx i spotted on my lunch time run. It was just too sad. I couldn't even salvage anything from it.

If Hoyas are involved, then I need to start running more often.

Just a couple of hours north most likely. Still in the Perth area.

OMG, your growing area is gorgeous! Do you have two obovata? I see one with bigger leaves. The one next to it with long vines wrapped around the basket, is that obovata too?

No, just the one obovata for now.

That great octopus of a Hoya in the basket is australis.
