Jade Plant Help!

Hello all! I'm new to the forums and was hoping I could get some insight on saving my new jade!

I'm not new to jades with about 6 little guys growing already. I wanted something bigger so I found this 20" tall or so jade on eBay back in February. It was lanky and obviously deprived of light but I had full plans to heavily prune it to about 8 inches above soil line. The seller and I agreed to hold off until our east coast temps were warm enough (70's). Plant arrived today with its bare root back packed in bone dry pure peat moss. The trunk was very hard and in good shape with the branches very limp and droopy almost mushy in spots. Leaves are very thin and wrinkled.

I pulled off as much soul as possible and there was a solid smooth ball as the root system with few thing flimsy roots coming off. Some of these roots having a whitish appearance in places. Almost like mildew? Brushed off all remaining soil and any completely dead roots. I cut one branch off and it was a nice white color. I then planted the root ball in a clay pot with Al's Gritty Mix and watered it.

I know well that jades are water sensitive and with the whitish substance I became worried. But with the limpness of the limbs and leaves I was concerned it needed water.

I have some pics below. Please help me save this beautiful old jade! Any opinions welcome.

thsnks again.
