When to fert small potted palms?

I just potted up several small (at least 2 years old) palms into pots I got mail order. The plan is to keep most of them in the pots until they gain some size. Should I wait a week after potting to give them a light dose of palm fertilizer (pellets) or what?

    I'm using 360 day Nutricote. I mix it in the soil when I pot the new plants up. It takes a while before it starts releasing at full strength, which gives them plenty of time to get used to the new soil. Sometimes, I also top dress with triple super phosphate. It makes roots grow 3 times faster and only lasts a month, so by the time the phosphate runs out, the Nutricote is starting to kick in good.
