I am not sure exactly what is wrong with it, the leaves don't seem to be showing any abnormal color, but there is definitely something wrong with it. I think you have the watering about right, but there is nothing wrong that I can think of. I have had palms (seedlings) that simply died for a random reason, and I still can't figure it out.

Okay, I see. I think many (including me) perceived this palm as a desert species. I am glad that I didn't really steer you wrong, but it is good to hear from others before making a decision.

There is a BIG misconception, in general, about palms native to desert and semi-arid areas (including the palm genera Phoenix and Washingtonia, among others). Even these species are water-loving (thus their reliance on subterranean aquifers and life in oases..., including our own Palm Springs). In fact, there is an old Arab proverb which is summarized as, "Date palms need there feet in water and head in the sun." (And this species of Date, roebellini is native to monsoonal climates of southeast Asia which is seasonally INUNDATED!)

Hey! We live in Scottsdale, and bought these same plants from Costco. We got 6 of them. Three are fine and three are falling over. We have been watering them all equally, and a lot. To the point we thought we were

over watering them. I haven't been about to figure it out either.

I was going to try to put them in larger pots with palm fertilizer. And make sure the drainage is good. But I am worries some of these may be sick.
