Hello,

im a bit of a beginner vegetable gardener with a planter on my balcony. In November I planted some garlic (including some elephant garlic) and this morning noticed that there appears to be lots of mites/insects on the shoots. I have sprayed them with some fruit and vegetable bug killer. I'm wondering what these are and how I can deal with them in the long term - are they coming from the soil in my planter? The same planter had some spinach and carrots in it last year. Lots of problems with black flies last year but no mites!

Next to my planter I have pots with garlic also but they don't have any mites on them.
