Perfectly normal trait for a lot of begonias to get lots of aerial roots when the humidity is high. Nothing to worry about unless you don't like the sight of them. Vent the top and when the air dries out enough the roots will shrivel and die off. Close the vent and the plant will make new aerial roots. This characteristic shows how the plant wants to make new roots and makes it easy for us to make new plants via cuttings.

Love the effect of these very long aerial roots of some plant in the Atlanta Botanical Garden conservatory. I'm guessing at least 50 feet or more. Seen this in many conservatories though and at the cenote Ik Kil in Yucatan, Mexico.

So the second photo shows even a cane like (callosa) can have aerial roots. B. callosa may be considered a thick stem by the "experts" though.
