Hard protrusions from Lucky Bamboo stem. Is it unhealthy?

It seems to be yellowing around these areas too. What is it? How do I fix it?

Could you please post a closer, less blury photo of it? Also is the affected place squishy?

Sorry, that's as close as I could photograph it without the focus being bad. It wasn't squishy, iirc. In the time between when I made this post and now, I decided to make some cuttings of the stem to cut off those weird parts and placed the cuttings in water and they're starting to grow roots now. But I'm still curious as to what those protrusions were and why they happened

It's weird. I have lucky bamboo at home and that has never happened. Normally if it becomes squishy something bad has happened. But I suppose the plant will be fine if the yellow does not spread or it becomes squishy. Just keep a close eye on it :)
