Here is a more recent photo of the A. Somalense ssp. nova Tanzania seedlings.

They are the group in front and other group beyond white tag are A. Somalense (Fat Caudex).

Here re are few others of A. Arabicum "Diamond King" & "Diamond Queen".

A. True Socotranum, A. Arabicum & TS "Emerald Crown", "MKMK".

These she are a group of A. boehmianum ( foreground ), A. Multiflorum ( 2 forms).

Mark, I have never started seeds under lights, but once they have germinated. I put them under lights (T5 HO Flourescents). I have found that it is not worth starting seeds until Jan./Feb. for myself. I have found that starting them in Nov./Dec. here and under lights, does not really gain any growth with them. So, it is not worth the time or cost of hydro, although low.

If I can get them to the 5 leaf stage by April in the house, then outside all summer and early fall. They are set for the winter and I need not use the lights on them.

Haven't been around much due to multiple remodeling jobs in my house, gotta get around to posting some pics. I'm running so far behind; I just started transplanting last night. A few days ago I was out watering plants at 4:25am (before bedtime).

A lot of work going on here and temps mostly in the upper 90's. Luckily I bought some shade cloth, otherwise all my plants would probably be dead due to the lack of quality gardening time I've had recently.

Now that most of the major projects are about done; I'm slowly getting back into my groove.

I believe if you sow & germinate your seeds in direct sun they take to it just fine; and will probably expedite their growth. Since I have such a short growing season, I haven't had a chance to do it.

Rick what tree has dark skin? I like the color of the first seedlings but they will green up I guess.

I have seen those seeds on Harsh Makkar Facebook site but I have never bought from him, maybe somebody here has

marica - The 1st time I planted seeds; I did them way too deep and had terrible germination. After doing some research, and watching a bunch of videos, now I sow them no deeper than 1cm. I use a germination tray w/ a tall lid w/ vents.

The moisture in the soil alone will keep the humidity way up in hot temp's. I like to keep the vents wide open; with a small fan blowing downward towards the tray.

Although, I don't understand why some seeds from the same batch, planted under the same conditions germinate within 2-3 days and thrive, while others never sprout.

I've still got a lot to learn.

I received the seeds from a friend in Europe and he does not sell seeds.

I am not sure where else to get them.

For me germination works better indoors in a heated propagator. Once they've shed their hats they go outside, where I very slowly let them get used to the sun.

I sow my seeds on top of the sowing medium (gently pressed into it, but barely covered), and my germination rate stands at 92% at the moment.

That's the way I've been doing it, but I've had to play around quite a bit w/ different set ups to get the temp right.

At first I was planting them way too deep (about 1"). After suggestions here; and viewing some videos, I've been going no deeper than 1cm. Although, I have seen people doing it on the surface of the soil, and just spraying them w/ water to just basically give the seed a slight foot hold.

A. Arab. Brazilian 5 seeds, Share A. O. Doksawai 10 seeds, A.O. Desert night fork 3, Zaflig moon 5, Flabellate 5 (bad odds), This is only the second time I have tried growing seeds. Last time was early spring. They are on my DVR with a 80% solar screen for the window. It is hot and dry out there. I sunburned two small seedlings moved them in the semi shade. The just arrived and they did not like the adjustment. From St louis to Ca. even though I slowly introduced them. Lost all their leaves which is normal for shock they do have new sprouts. My Dermitt clone even lost it's leaves. I have had it a month.

Growing nothing hard to get.
