Lancelot Leeks

Never grown leeks before, ordered these from Dixondale for some reason, already had a red and a white short day onion from them, plus elephant garlic, potato onions, Egyptian walking onions, white multiplier onions shallots and from seed, more potato onions and Italian red bottle onions. We use a lot of alliums, so I thought I would try a lot of varieties. Some from Southern Exposure, some from eBay, potato onion seed and bulbs from Kelly's Garden. Anyway, pretty much covered the allium family!

I'll see what grows well here, what we like, what is easy to propagate for next year and go from there. Hopefully won't have to buy as much next year, except maybe a few starts from Dixondale.

Most are sprouted and doing well, but ther are a few voids, most noticeable are the potato onions from Southern Exposure, only a few bulbs have sprouted out of many that I planted both spring and fall.

My guess right now is our main onions will be the multipliers, Egyptians, and potato onions, along with garlic.
