We will mow and immediately plow them under when they get about 18" high but not later than May 1st. We want large amounts of biomass. We will wait about 2 or 3 weeks after plowing to plant. This crop is Hard Red Winter Wheat, Cereal Rye and Austrian Winter Peas.

We have been eating the leaves from our AWP all Winter.

Thanks Johnny. My peas are about 15" high. I guess I'll plow them under in 2 weeks to be ready for the squash, melons and tomatoes. The peas are enclosed by a deer proof fence so I can't take the big tractor there. The deer would sure like to get after the peas from the tracks they're leaving.

Johnny, when did you plant those peas, and where did you buy the seed?

We bought 50# at Eckroat in OKC. We planted them the end of September.

My helpers and I have been eating them all afternoon. We all have green teeth now.

We have so much wheat planted around here, the deer haven't even looked at our AWP.

Our fence is working well too. So far, there are no tracks inside the wire.

Holman's in Collinsville sells Austrian Winter peas in bulk. They are closer to Grove. I would think Stillwater Milling might have them.
