Master bedroom paint.

I've in the process of adding wainscoating to my master bedroom walls. I can not figure out how to paint it. The trim/moldings are Dove white. My upholstered bed is a creamy white and our wall to wall carpet is a medium grey. I do not like my carpet, but it is new. A few years down the road I would like to replace it with dark brown hardwood like the rest of my house. That being said I have to paint the walls to complement the carpet, but with the thought that it may be removed in A few years. Would painting all the walls Dove white be too overwhelming? Do I paint the to half above the chair rail a very, very light grey? And if I do that, does the trim of boxes stay white and the wall is grey? I'm at a loss and need help! Thank you.

In this picture the chair rail has yet to be installed nor are the boxes complete. The wall is a pale blue and needs to be changed.

You are spending all that money to have the architectural molding detail. I would paint it in contrasting colors. Dove White and a pretty blue gray or a deeper gray.

Try Sarah 101 master bedroom...I think it would work in your room. Very nicely done for paint.

Try kid free retreat under Sarah Richard Design, Sarah 101, Season 2 and she has done a beautiful bedroom with grey and white with wainscoting trim thruout. Will give you great ideas...I cannot get my chrome book to post it and have it stay! Sorry.

I think you are headed in the right direction, Susan. I would do the molding/trim in the Dove White and do either a soft gray or a charcoal gray if you want to go a little more dramatic. "On The Rocks" by Sherwin-Williams is a beautiful, soft grey that goes well with everything... plus the name is great! You may want to check out a swatch of that. You could even do the the darker gray on the bottom and do the softer grey above the chair rail. Doing a darker color below really stabilized the room.

This is some of the room. Disregard the dresser with TV that doesn't stay in the room. I am painting chair rail and below Dove White like the rest of the molding. The upper portion trim of wainscoating will be dove white like the bottom. The wall inside and out of the boxes is what I need help with. The bed is more of an ivory and the carpet is a medium grey.
