I don't. I have a lot of layerd Persian rugs over my wall to wall in the upstairs. . We randomly place them as it pleases us and so far in the 10 years we have done this nothing untoward has happened to the wall to wall. I will say that it is just the two of us for the most part unless we have company so this is not a high traffic area.

Trail, how thick is your w-t-w? I really think our library needs a Persian rug layered over the frieze carpeting, but it's sort of a "mini shag", and I don't know how a rug will work over something like that. Just curious what you've done.

I used to have a few area rugs over W2W (the standard height stuff). It really annoyed me how they would "travel" across the room over time, as we walked over them. Every other day I was yanking them back into place. Rug pads didn't help, unfortunately. Silk, acrylic, or wool - they all shifted around.

Never again - we replaced the W2W with LVP and made life not only easier but less dusty.

TR it is standard WTW carpet normal pile and is 13 yrs old. I ran up and took some photos for you. We have never had them travel so not sure if that is the nature of these rugs or the carpet beneath. The Persians are quite heavy so maybe that is the key.
