Carpenter ant????

Found this on the floor of our bathroom. Hoping it's not a concern. ID would be greatly appreciated.

The picture isn't clear about 1/3 of the way down. Does it have wings? Where do you live?

Head is unlike ant, also the antennae do not have major mid-joint like an ant. Your insect is some kind of wasp, I would not handle it like an ant.

What state do you live in? We get all kinds of bugs in our house just because we open our doors to go in and out. It might be a one time thing with that bug.

Thanks for the replies... I live in Northern NJ and have attached a clearer picture(i think). We too get plenty of bugs inside, but usually on stinkbugs in the colder months. Yes it has wings, they are shorter than the body.

We have had flying ants come in with regular ants. I would google it. I never saw a bee/wasp bug with a thin body segment like that one has.
