Would these 2 by 2 slate tiles work well on a shower floor?

I already got a message that the 4 by 4 slate tiles would not work well on a shower floor as they would accrue water and eventually flake. Is the same true of this smaller size?

Hello Ellen,

Flaking is usually common in natural cleft (gauged) tiles when used in high moisture areas due to water penetration in the clefts. It also is true for bigger size tile. Tumbled should be fine.
