Your pretty iris is a difficult one. I don't recognize it. If you want to pursue an ID read on.

Helpful information for ID of bearded iris:
Any purple base foliage (PBF); if so how much.
Height (measure from ground to top of top bud); this can vary from year to year.
Number of branches and if any are "stubs" (can't remember proper term).
Number of buds; any double or triple sockets and which ones (ie. top one or 3rd down).
Bud opening sequence (ie. 3 at once).
Color description of flower including haft area and beards.
Form description (ie. tailored, ruffled, laced, horiz. falls, etc.)
And anything else you can think of.
Side view of flower, front view, whole stalk. Taken in sun. If camera leans towards blue or red, make note.
Side close-up of beard sometimes helpful.
Picture each day shows progression.

Even this information will not guarantee an ID. It may rule out some cultivars. Big box stores are the most guilty of mismarked iris and daylilies.

I thought an ID might prove difficult, but I was hoping because it's an oldie that it would be easier to figure out. I have a few older ones I don't have the names for.

I got lucky when a woman walked by my garden and pointed to my favorite yellow and purple Iris. She said, "I see you have 'Edith Wolford'." I was happy to finally have a name for that beauty.

Thanks for that list. Some of those things I wouldn't have known to look for. I had to look up haft area so I found out what that means, and I learned some additional interesting iris info during my search.

I'll see if I can get a little more to go on when my peach iris comes back. It's not like I really have to know, but the alphabet inspired me to try to find out

Could it be Beverly Sills?

Nope. Her beard is a different color and the falls are rounder and wider.

I found the name for these pretty peach Iris! Pinafore Pink. I found my old record of several oldies I got at the same time and this one fits. It makes sense I was trying to get something pink back then.

Often the plants I get that are labeled pink turn out to be more peach in color. Daffodils, Daylilies and now Iris. Does that happen to anyone else? I always wonder if my soil leaning alkaline does that or just a labeling thing.
