p. Preciosa's first bloom!

Last year, passiflora Preciosa grew quite a bit, but there were no blooms. Over the winter, it died back some, but it started growing again and I found one bud. I thought it would be a while before the bud opened, but yesterday I spotted the flower. What a wonderful surprised!

Beautiful! I should try to grow one of these. I keep saying it, but now I need to do it!

Donna, you should give it a try. From what I recall of last summer, it got a bit too hot for it at this spot, but I plan to add some sort of shade for Preciosa as summer gets hotter.

I love the bloom on that one. They remind me of Ruby Glow but look a little more wine colored (?) vs the redder ruby glow flower.

I always wanted Ruby Glow after seeing it growing so beautifully in one of our gardening member's home. Preciosa satisfies that want :-)
