Very nice! My walmart never has any good plants.

Well, I was really out looking for some of those new pothos that are popping up here and there. I checked Lowes, Home Depot and Walmart. This was the only plant that needed to be rescued. Your hahnii group is wonderful!

Every once in a while, I too find different varieties of Sans at Walmart. Nothing uncommon (I may have picked up a Whitney there, too), and usually well over-watered. Each time, I've picked one up at Walmart, it had to dry out for weeks prior to being exposed to water again. However, that said, they haven't died from being over watered.

It is amazing that the plants we buy are so wet, plus the peat moss they are grown in. If I tried to grow them that way, they would fall over dead. I am going to let it dry out for a while and repot next month.

I am seeing the same out here (California) - crazy soil mix choices....Even The Huntington Gardens (they should know better being a botanical garden) have rotting Bentel's Sensations mulched with moist coco-mulch right up to the leaves side by side with tropicals that require way more water in mixed planters. Just nuts.

I rescued this sans from wally world yesterday. It was sitting crooked in the pot just like that... I was able to get them to discount it. I will have to post an after picture when I got home.

My hubby picked me up a sans from Lowe's Saturday and it was literally sitting in water. I already repotted it, but I'm hoping that I didn't choose a too big pot!!

I'm thinking it will grow into the pot this summer, no? It's always good to ask for a discount, if you don't ask they often won't offer it.

This is my first experience with the sans at home. We have had them at work for a few months and I LOVE them!!! So I should put them outside now that it has warmed up? I got them as house plants.

That's my plan, to put them out with warm weather. I can't help but believe being under the sky is better for them. I will rotate some into the house during the summer - it just seems so empty with all of them outside now that I'm used to them. They are supposed to "go dormant" in the winter. I assume that means they don't or slow down growth so don't need as much light or water compared to their growing season so I'll bring them in for the winter months. They do grow on one don't they?

Sans love to be outside in the heat, but be very careful not to sunburn them after being inside for the winter. A covered porch is good.

Thanks for clarifying that Barbmock - mine are outside but on the north side of the house in the shadow of the house, no direct sun at all, just soaking up cosmic rays from distant suns in other galaxies.

I confess, I came home with another one this week, it must be spring fever. I found this one at Home Depot. Couldn't resist.

Allison, I think yours and this new one are trifasciatas. The are so common, but easy and beautiful too.

You should all visit The Bahamas asap. We have millions of these growing wild. Also the cylindrical version, not so prolific, grows right on the beach.

I would love to come and visit. I think digging them up and bringing into the US would be frowned upon. But it's fun to see them growing wild.
