What is a root pruning container? Don't recommend root pruning palms in general.

palmbob “root pruning” is a term used for planting
containers that have either holes in walls of the container or made of “breathable”
fabric. The holes in either allow the ends
of feeder roots to dry out when they finally make contact with the outside air forcing
the plant to produce additional feeder roots that branch off of the main roots
system. Eventually your plant will develop hundreds of feeder roots and your
root ball will consist of majority of those feeder roots. This translates to a
plant that is better suited to the uptake in water and nutrients which
translates to a healthier plant. The tree nursery industry have been using
these containers for years and swear that when a tree grown in these containers
are finally planted out in soil suffer very minimal shock due to already having
thousands of feeder roots ready to give the plant what it needs to adjust to
its new home. The cannabis people use these with crazy success.

when you transplant do NOT feed for a few months... give the plant some time to make roots into the new soil... then they may respond to feeding... but feeding at time of transplant can cause more damage than help.
