We have various size upper cabinets like you do and we have different length handles. They are the long skinny contemporary ones. The taller cabinets have longer handles. I think it helps balance out the taller cabinets more to match with the shorter ones.

Jessica we are renovating our kitchen as well and using similar cabinets to yours. We decided to go with an unfinished brass from Alno (myknobs.com). We are using 4 inch (drawers) and 1.5 inch (cabinets) pulls.

oh your renovation is looking amazing @christopher mcginness - oh wow, I was thinking way bigger...this kitchen will be part of an open concept so I'm thinking I should do a little larger. Also some of those drawers are 30-36 inches, is that what you have?

We used a decorative round knob on long uppers like yours, and then two knobs for the large pull out drawers below. Beware of square ones like the picture above - if they loosen over time and need to be tightened, they won't stay square.

If I'm using 42" cabinets, then I'm going with med-large pulls and using the same size everywhere.

I think it can be a bit distracting to size up and down for all the different cabinets. However, if I had a really small drawer, like 9" over a tray cabinet, then I might switch, although in that case it would probably be a knob situation.

Anyway, not all pulls are available in a continuum of sizes, so you have to decide how much you're attached to a style or an approach.

Agree you can definitely go larger on the pulls.

ThanksJessica! So the Alno brass pulls we are using are available in 12 inch to 1 inch sizes. Our kitchen is much smaller. I only have a few 36" drawers (sink pull out, above pots and pans cabinet) I'm still only using a 4" pull. They are like jewelry for the cabinets. I didn't want to over accessorize.

We did knobs on the doors and the pulls in various sizes depending upon the size of the drawer. The one pull (with the towel) on what looks like a cabinet is a pull out trash and recycle bin "drawer" so a knob would not work there. Hope this helps. Nice job on your kitchen!
