Why two faucets?

Investing that the main sink is in island and then you have a faucet directly in back of it over the stove. What is the thinking behind this? Does the family actually use the stove faucet? Or is this a good idea that's not used?

    The pot filler faucet at the cook top allows you to fill a large pot, typically for pasta (or lobster or or or ). Then you don't have to lift a heavy pot with water up out of the sink and carry it to the cook top. But, when it is time to dispose of the water, you do need to carry the pot to the sink. They're quite popular and homeowners love them. BTW, isn't this a beautiful wood island? :) Rhoda

    PS. What size is the island. I am trying to compare for my lighting.
    My island will be 54" x 57". What size pendant do you think I should hang-I am thinking 2 and looking at the RH benson or the Argentino Nickel mini pendant. Thanks in advance.
