Stone wall?

The wall looks great, but won't water coming int he top eventually make the wall crumble since it's not protected from water?

Yes agreed, though it is Coastal California. The contractor did this detail on his own. Abandoning the detail I developed. The Owner and the contractor were tight, so me hammering the point was not effective, it's not always as straight forward as it might appear, if fact it's very difficult to get everything the way you planned, so it goes in the world of design and construction, or at least in my world. Yeah the guy has a point with the water issue. I won't tell you who the contractor was. It really is a very ugly detail
