How did it turn out? I don't do winter sowing but I would have thought putting them in the sun was maybe not the best move. If plants get frosted it is usually best to let them thaw gradually. Well, that is what applies to shrubs like camellias. Perhaps cool weather greens are tougher. But personally I would have left them to thaw naturally.

We shall see. I appreciate the feedback, might as well learn from my mistakes!

My daffodils were up and blooming when the ice hit/snow hit. I thought everything green would be dead. Instead, everything is fine. Some of the daffodil stems bent over, but otherwise everything is fine. I'd have bet a million dollars they were goners as they were covered in ice. I'm so glad they are okay. I cut off the broken daffodils for a cleaner look. Heidi in Nebraska

The wonderful magic of wintersowing is that plants are germinating and growing exactly as they should in nature. So, plants that can tolerate a freeze will sprout early enough that they might get frozen. But, they do fine. Honestly, you can toss those containers outside in January and ignore them until late April (where I live) and then open them up to find healthy plants ready to go into the ground where ever I want them.
