I've been playing around with our new console to find some pieces to decorate it with that work together and don't look cluttered. The items in the pictures are mostly "filler" items until I can buy some that work together. Any suggestions?? I know i need something "tall" but I am leaning against lamps because we have a floor lamp close by. I was thinking a tall vase on one end but I'm not sure if it would it be too asymmetrical? I'm also considering filling the smaller shelves with matching storage boxes.

Any ideas are welcome! The colors in our apartment are mostly black, red and gold but would love to experiment with some color.
