Thanks Nancy, my Old fashioned big size purple noid (don't know what it is, my late neighbor gave me) and my yellow one also blooming, my first batch of Dutch Iris gone and the next one getting ready to bloom...

You get those chilly winters that SDBs love. I'm in a mild winter zone. SDB's do live long here.

What is SDB's ?

Looks like it means standard dwarf bearded iris. (I had to look it up :-) There's a lot of knowledgeable people on all these gardening forums. It makes gardening even more fun.

Yes, standard dwarf bearded iris. They are very short & you need to plant them where you will enjoy them, but they are early & can have very beautiful patterns. I especially like border bearded & intermediate iris, they are shorter than the tall beardeds, but the stalks are sturdier. When you get heavy spring winds the tall ones often flop over.

I'm praying that we do not have severe thunderstorm n hails, just started raining hard and thunder n lightning, so I take this photos before these cuties get damage....

Lovely photos! I haven't ordered from iris4u. I know Schreiners & Blue J iris are both good places to order. Schreiners gives generous, large rhizomes. Blue J's are smaller rhizomes, but much cheaper & still will bloom the following year.

Thanks, Nan. I did not recognize it as a Dogwood at all. Never have seen one that looks like a shrub. I really like it. Do you recall where you purchased it?

My father in law got a cutting grow in pot from her neighbor who got it from her parents, I think they live in East Texas...a few years ago I saw some in Lowe's here in Fort Worth...I don't know what kind of Dogwood it is, but it grow more like shrub not tree at all... I will try if I can search and find it's name for your OK... when it blooms (after few years) you can hardly see it's leaves...

I ordered from Iris 4U a few years ago. I received excellent stock. Refunds were given on some rhizomes the company sent but thought were too small (even though they were the size I often got at other companies). Very generous and reliable company in my one experience.
