Oh no! That's disappointing! While nothing is really going to "correct" this, the current white walls only serve to offer up a comparison, so adding color to walls and backslash should help.

Working in some of the cream color of the cabinets into the tile scheme through a multi colored mosaic might help things make sense.

We would also recommend painting the walls a grey tone to bring out the veining in the counter and to contrast the cabinets to make them look more white.

There are many companies that will replace the doors of ikea cabinets and its a fairly simple process, but I understand it would be super disappointing to spend more money for corrections of a brand new kitchen.

Could you please tell me what your flooring is? I love it. I am about to install an Ikea kitchen too.

I'd keep it clean and simple with white subway tile and grey grout and paint the walls a medium shade of grey.

Our flooring is actually from Lowes; Opal Creek Classic Scrape 5-in Prefinished Oak Hardwood Flooring (Quicksilver)

It's been nearly a month since you first posted this so I'm wondering if you have found your paint color for the walls and your backsplash. I hope you didn't decide on white subway as that would just accentuate your off white cabinets. Your ceiling paint is also very white which does the same thing. I would suggest painting that in a creamier white like BM Cloud White.

Since the warm light is creating a yellowish cast, go with the opposite in the wall paint color , which would be of course, cool tones! Blue is the opposite of yellow on the color wheel, so a nice Robin's Egg Blue or a Wedgewood Blue might look good. You could also go with Greys, like a Light Grey all the way up to a (medium-toned) Charcoal.

How is the quality of the flooring? We are thinking about buying but found little information about the brand.Thanks!

We ended up painting our walls BM's Cinder, which is supposedly the color of the Bodbyn grey cabinets at IKEA. It looks good, although we are still without a backsplash.

Our flooring from Lowes has been great so far. We have a 15 month old who loves to run all his toys across it and it hasn't scratched or chipped yet (going on 6 months since install). So far we're finding it quite durable. I will warn you that up close there a lot of imperfections on some boards (this is a "true" barn board like appearance) which might not be for everyone.

We are also thinking of going with Ikea Grimslov off-white cabinets. I'm worried too, as we've lot of natural light coming in kitchen (east facing). Can you please tell me your experience wether will it look yellowish?

We do not have a ton of natural light, but are about to put the same cabinets in! I worry about the off white color and am trying to think of a good backsplash and counter top color!! Thanks for posting!
