Drapes would definitely help no matter what style you are going for. I'm not sure what chic farmhouse looks like but I will see if I can help through some photos from Houzz!

You could also do blinds on the two smaller windows flanking the large one. I still think the large one would look better with drapes.

Of course there is always roman shades.

For a chic farmhouse look, I'd put a different frame around the artwork, something more rustic. Also, the chandelier is beautiful, but again, pushes the room in a more sophisticated, classic direction. Have you considered trading it out for a more rustic one? Curtains with a muted color, but floral pattern would be nice, and maybe some shelves made out of reclaimed wood with some antique bottles with a few flowers in them would be a way to move in that direction.

Curtains in a stripe and something large for a table centerpiece. Definitely lower the picture as its hung too high.

I think an area rug under the table would be lovely--and a coordinating table runner.

Stationary drapery panels between each window. Make sure they are full enough though.

A few ideas for elements to add: beige linen drapes, a burlap or similarly textured table runner, get a slipcover for the chair at the head of the table accented with nice tiebacks. For the table, a woven basket filled with fruit or an enamel or green glass jug with flowers.

Take the pot off the floor. Put a floral on the table with a table runner. Move the picture down a few inches. Pick up some colors from the painting to splash around the room. Depends on what you are looking at out the windows but curtains is a possibility.
