Jody, I can't believe how similar they are!! Well, you've done well by your bulbs, the one I got nearly died but I saved it in time and it has a few leaves but isn't exactly flourishing...shame on me!

Believe it or not, I'm finding that many of my finicky plants do better when planted in my Lg Dunkin Donuts coffee cups!! I wish I could find something a bit larger that would allow me to see the progress of the roots as that is half the fun for me. I'm going to replant some smaller ones that are growing in terra cotta. The fact that the roots are exposed to the light doesn't seem to bother them in the least.

You should see our garage, stack of plastic coffee cups!! What a thing to collect huh??

it seems that what is causing the yellow is color coming from the back
of the flower which appears to shine through. Strangely, its not just in the photo that it looks yellow, but also when looking at the actual flower! I've included a photo below to show the strong coloring on the back.

Hans, I agree it does remind me of an H.papilio hybrid,although it is more trumpet shaped than papilio. Here is a photo taken today.

That's pretty too! I'm amazed that these bulbs are all so similar, I would have thought that there would have been some very noticeable differences assuming that these are all grown from seed. It's also nice to see that this hybrid blooms with 4 flowers!! I'll have to give mine a talking to!
